There are many boards in Pakistan and there are many cities also population is increasing day by day there is need of educational board everywhere that should be independent and that should conduct examination by the board in different regions and also for secondary and higher secondary schools. Before Pakistan was formed educational system in khyber pakhtunkhwa was under the University of Peshawar and examination were conducted there but as education spreaded and many people started taking part in getting education. In Kohat region that is not well developed there was a need of educational board and that was formed January 19th, 2002, its founder chairman was Brig (Retd) Talat Imtiaz Naqvi this board was formed as board of intermediate and secondary education Kohat.

This board is spread so vast and there are many areas those come under the board and they are mentioned as following District Kohat, District Karak, District Hangu, F.R Kohat, Orakzai Agency and Kurram Agency. There are many schools and colleges from where students appear in examination that is for 5th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th examination and after that students can get admission in universities. This board is also conducting examination for 5th and 8th class although those examinations are not compulsory but students appear in them for practice and to get known to the paper pattern.

Before examination students need to get registered by the board that is its forms are posted to the affiliated colleges and schools and they will also be made available online on the official website of the board.
